how to play punchline online
- for three rounds, everyone gets two original fill-in prompts and writes a punchline for each.
- answers are paired up anonymously. everyone votes once in every matchup, but never for their own answer.
- a matchup winner scores 1,000 points. a tie splits the points: 500 each.
- the answers are revealed after voting. the player with the most points after three rounds wins!
quick tip: Keep it short and specific. A surprising detail usually lands harder than a long setup—and nobody can see who wrote it until the votes are locked.

How does Punchline scoring work?
Every player votes once per matchup and cannot vote for their own answer. A matchup win earns 1,000 points; a tie splits 1,000 points evenly.
How many prompts and rounds are there?
Punchline runs three rounds. Each player writes two punchlines per round, then sees the anonymous matchups and votes.
